Frequently asked questions

How does a mortgage broker actually save me time?

We do the legwork: comparing lender policies, modelling borrowing capacity across several banks, preparing a clean application, chasing valuations, and managing the back-and-forth with the lender’s credit team. You see a curated shortlist instead of doing the research yourself across dozens of providers.

Are online rate comparison sites enough?

Comparison sites are useful for headline rates but rarely capture the picture lenders actually assess on: serviceability buffers, postcode policies, employment type, and a hundred other variables. The lowest advertised rate often isn’t the rate you’d be approved at, or the right product for your situation.

Do I have to use a broker for the whole process?

No — you can step away at any time. The Credit Quote we provide makes our role and any costs clear. Most clients find the simplicity of having one point of contact for the whole loan worthwhile, but you’re never obliged.

Will my information be kept private?

Yes. We comply with the Privacy Act 1988 and only collect information necessary to assess and lodge your loan. Our Privacy Policy is provided alongside the Credit Guide; the high-level version is on our Privacy page.

What is the Connective lender panel?

Connective is one of Australia’s largest mortgage broker aggregators. Being on its panel means we have access to a wide range of lenders — majors, mutuals, non-banks and specialists — under one compliance and technology framework.

Can you help with commercial or business finance?

Yes — alongside residential lending we can assist with commercial finance, equipment finance, vehicle finance and similar facilities. The process is similar in spirit but with a slightly different lender panel and structure. Get in touch and we’ll point you in the right direction.
